The score for each school is calculated based on a combination of factors:

• Number of participants: 5 points per participant
• Awards placements in the competition: 30 to 150 points, depending on the position
• Consecutive participation: school will receive an additional 50 points for each consecutive year of attendance
• MEC Club Level 2 membership: 300 points with activation
• Judges can award up to additional 300 points based on their overall evaluations for each participating school
• Additional weighted points will be awarded for participation in the MEC Legacy edition

*This scoring system has been in effect since 2014, allowing schools to accumulate points over the years.
